I went to an estate sale today. An acquaintance of mine is cleaning out a house and she let me be the first person to come inside the house and choose items to buy.
There were many gorgeous antiques that were out of my price range, but I came home with lots of good buys.
Here are the pieces of furniture that I came home with. The green pillars on the left are candle holders from the 70s and she threw those in for free.
I love the shape of these candle holder and think they will look great with a coat of paint. Unfortunately, no one in my family agrees with me.
And speaking of free items, here is a picture of all the free stuff I came home with.
The free items include - the afore mentioned green candle sticks, 2 trays, a box full of jars and some of them are mason jars, two needle point pillows, a fan, vintage measuring cups and spoons, and a home made trunk. There were at least 8 of these home made trunks. I took home a small one.
I also purchased a box lot of milk glass for $15.
Oh wait, there was one more box that didn't make it into the picture.
Here is all the milk glass laid out on my dining room table. There were 76 pieces total.
Why do I want so much milk glass? I am helping with a baby shower and I plan on using some of the pieces for that purpose. And by helping, I mean that I begged them to let me design the whole thing!
I also purchased a lot of pink depression glass.
Hubby wanted this mahogany corner book shelf.
This table will get painted.
As will this one.
And this one, too.
The stool will get reupholstered and painted.
Poking around the house looking for treasure was a lot of fun. I might even go back for more.
